Permanent RROD Repair guide xbox 360
Posted on May 17th, 2010 25 commentsDanjalS asked:
For this repair you also need -Torx 8 Screwdriver/T8 -Torx 10 Screwdriver/T10 -A small flat screwdriver to open the back This repair will work on allmost all RROD’s especially on the ones with 0102 0020 as secondary code. It CAN also fix the one red light in the right bottom with an error code on screen like “e74″ but only if it’s the GPU if it’s the ANA or HANA chip it can’t (unless you’re lucky with overheating) I already fixed 12 xbox 360′s like this but you have to use heatpaste because all things like that will make the fix permanent. Otherwise it will not last long, same thing when you don’t overheat. Of course you can put alternative heatsyncs under the memory chips and tricks like that but it isn’t the SOURCE of the problem, however it can be good to do. You can also do this without attaching the motherboard to the steel case, like explained. If you want to do that use screws with a flat top which doen’t get smaller 10 mm long (without the top) don’t put STEEL washers under the motherboard if you do this. Feel free to ask questions.>>Click Here to Download the Best Xbox 360 Repair Guide Now<<

When I start up my Xbox 360, I get sound but no video picture. It has happened to my friend as well. We both bought new A/V cords and tried it. Still no video. But there are no red rings. Will this fix the problem?

Not a permanent fix. It is a fix, but its definitely not a permanent one.

@elephantjewls I like to follow the manufacturer’s instructions as much as a can…
Taken from the Artic Silver website:
“By working the plastic tool (old credit card) back and forth in all
directions (See green symbol on picture HS1) you will smooth out the compound
and work it into heatsink. This will ensure optimum filling of the microscopic
valleys in the metal where the CPU cores will contact the heatsink.” -

@ChargedAnimation Sorry, but you should NEVER use hard plastic. You should wrap your finger in cellophane or plastic wrap and do it that way.

I’ve done everything correctly (at least I think so) and now it’ll work but it overheats within minutes. What’d I do wrong?

This worked! First i thought it wouldnt work. But then i did everything back together and it worked. If this wont work try to let it “cook” for 10-15 minutes then cool down for 20 minutes and it will WORK!!!!!
Thanks for this GREAT TUTORIAL!

very good tutorial.
but to spread the thermal compound you should really use something different than your fingers *gg*
yout method worked, but i did the clamp a little bit different.
(search for hybrid xclamp here in youtube) – after this i boiled the xbox with danjals method.
i kept it switched on for about an hour and nothing freezed, but i didnt have the time to play a little bit xD
fix worken with error 0102.many thanks!

did u reattach the xclamp? I didn’t see that part. Also, how do you attach the motherboard to the case?

@ChargedAnimation if you have enough thermal compound on your finger to block the oil, you should be ok… lol, i used the finger… and it works like a charm!
